Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all Merchants and Creators using the Beekeeper platform ("Service"), operated by Risan Solutions (Norway, Org.nr 937 137 273). It forms part of the Terms of Service and must be read alongside it.

Beekeeper uses Stripe and Stripe Connect for payment processing and creator payouts. As a Stripe Connect platform, Beekeeper is required to review all users to ensure they do not operate in restricted business categories, and to enforce Stripe's Prohibited and Restricted Businesses policy. By registering and using the Service, you confirm that your business, products, and activities comply fully with this AUP.

Violations of this AUP will result in immediate account suspension or termination, reporting to Stripe, and where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

2. Prohibited Business Categories

The following business types, products, and activities are strictly prohibited on the Beekeeper platform. These categories are either prohibited by Stripe or are incompatible with the platform's intended use as a coupon distribution and affiliate marketing tool.

2.1 Illegal Products and Services

  • Products or services that are illegal in the seller's jurisdiction or the buyer's jurisdiction
  • Counterfeit goods, pirated software, or intellectual property infringement
  • Services that facilitate or promote any illegal activity

2.2 Adult Content and Services

  • Pornography, explicit sexual content, or adult entertainment services
  • Adult subscription platforms or pay-per-view adult content
  • Escort or companionship services

2.3 Weapons and Dangerous Items

  • Firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories (including suppressors, conversion kits, and 3D-printed parts)
  • Explosives, detonators, and pyrotechnic devices
  • Knives and bladed weapons sold for offensive use
  • Chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear materials
  • Items sold specifically to bypass firearm background checks or export controls

2.4 Controlled Substances and Drugs

  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Synthetic drugs, novel psychoactive substances, and research chemicals
  • Prescription medications sold without valid prescriptions
  • Unregulated supplements making unsubstantiated medical claims

2.5 Tobacco and Nicotine Products

  • Cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and smokeless tobacco
  • E-cigarettes, vaping devices, and vaping liquids
  • Nicotine pouches and related products

2.6 Gambling and Betting

  • Online casinos, sports betting, and poker platforms
  • Lotteries and sweepstakes (unless operated under a valid licence and compliant with applicable law)
  • Fantasy sports platforms with real-money prizes
  • Prediction markets and wagering services

2.7 Cryptocurrency and High-Risk Financial Products

  • Cryptocurrency exchanges, trading platforms, and wallets
  • Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), token sales, and NFT marketplaces
  • Unregulated investment products, binary options, and forex trading platforms without appropriate licences
  • Money transmitters, remittance services, and unlicensed payment processors

2.8 Deceptive and Fraudulent Schemes

  • Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, and chain letters
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) programs where income is primarily derived from recruitment rather than product sales
  • Deceptive subscription services with unclear or misleading cancellation terms
  • Miracle cure products and fraudulent health claims
  • "Get rich quick" schemes and unsolicited financial advisory services

2.9 High-Risk Financial Services

  • Payday loans and high-interest short-term lending
  • Debt collection services
  • Credit repair and debt settlement services
  • Bail bonds and surety services

2.10 Harmful and Hateful Content

  • Content or products that promote violence, terrorism, or extremism
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Content that exploits, endangers, or sexualises minors (CSAM β€” any such content will be reported immediately to law enforcement)
  • Human trafficking, forced labour, or exploitation services

2.11 Cybercrime and Surveillance

  • Malware, spyware, ransomware, and hacking tools
  • Stolen data, account credentials, or personal information
  • Covert surveillance tools ("stalkerware")
  • Services for conducting cyberattacks or unauthorised access

2.12 Platform Misuse

  • Using the coupon or affiliate system to launder money or facilitate fraudulent transactions
  • Creating fake merchant accounts, fake campaigns, or artificial redemptions
  • Using the platform to distribute unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
  • Any use of the platform that violates Stripe's Prohibited and Restricted Businesses policy

3. Restricted Categories Requiring Prior Approval

The following categories are not automatically permitted and require prior written approval from Beekeeper before use. Contact hello@beekeeper.bz to request review:

  • Age-restricted products (alcohol, where local law permits, must include age verification)
  • Regulated health and pharmaceutical products (e.g., OTC medications, medical devices)
  • Licensed financial services (e.g., regulated investment products, insurance)
  • Travel services with complex cancellation policies
  • CBD and hemp-derived products (permitted only in jurisdictions where legal, with documentation)

Approval is at Beekeeper's sole discretion. Approval may be withdrawn at any time if circumstances change, applicable law changes, or if Stripe modifies its own policies regarding these categories.

4. Creator Content Standards

Creators using the platform to promote merchant campaigns must not:

  • Promote merchants or products that fall within any prohibited category above
  • Make false, misleading, or deceptive claims about products in their content
  • Fail to disclose their commercial/affiliate relationship as required by law (FTC, CAP, EU consumer protection regulations)
  • Target campaigns at minors or use content likely to appeal primarily to children under 13
  • Use their Beekeeper-provided coupon links in connection with prohibited content (spam, adult platforms, etc.)

5. Enforcement

Beekeeper actively monitors platform usage for compliance. Upon identifying a violation of this AUP:

  • Immediate suspension: Your account and API access may be suspended immediately without prior notice where there is credible evidence of a prohibited category violation or legal risk.
  • Termination: Repeated or serious violations will result in permanent account termination.
  • Stripe notification: We are required to notify Stripe of suspected prohibited business activity. This may result in the termination of your Stripe account independently of any action we take.
  • Law enforcement referral: Where required by law or where activity involves criminal conduct (including CSAM, human trafficking, or fraud), we will report to relevant authorities.
  • No refunds: Accounts terminated for AUP violations are not entitled to refunds of any kind.

If you believe a suspension or termination was made in error, you may submit a formal complaint via the process described in Section 24 of our Terms of Service, or by emailing legal@beekeeper.bz.

Beekeeper may update this AUP to reflect changes in Stripe's policies, applicable law, or platform requirements. Material changes will be notified in accordance with Section 16 of the Terms of Service (at least 30 days' notice for material changes). Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
